September is Library Card Sign-Up Month!

Have you been thinking of getting a library card? Do you need to renew your expiring card? Now is the perfect time to do both! September is Library Card Sign-Up Month, and Crystal Lake Public Library is offering great incentives to residents signing up for new cards.
The first 100 people to register for a library card (or renew a card) in September will receive a free CLPL coffee mug!

That’s not all. All new library cardholders and existing cardholders can enter into our drawing for four gift bags (two baskets for new cardholders; two for existing cardholders).
Adult/Teen Gift Bags Contain:
• Amazon Kindle e-reader (you can download eBooks from the CLPL eLibrary with your library card!)
• Reading blanket
• Chocolate

Children’s Baskets Contain:
• Toniebox audio player starter set with PawPatrol puppies or Frozen characters
• Reading blanket
• Chocolate

How to Get a Card – Residents
Individuals who live within the city limits of Crystal Lake may obtain a library card by visiting the library and providing identification that establishes residency such as:
- Drivers license/state ID with current address or
- Personal/payroll check that includes current address or
- Mail or utility bill with current postmark
Patrons can also call the library at 815.459.1687 for help with obtaining a card or renewing a card.
Non-residents
Non-residents can get a library card by paying a fee equivalent to what their library tax portion would be if their property was located within the city limits of Crystal Lake. Click here for more information about obtaining a library card.
